The Huaorani Community with Bameno Community
7 DAYS / 6 NIGHTS
During this trip we will have the opportunity to share with one of the most genuine indigenous community of the Amazon Rainforest, the Huaorani community. This ethnic group had the first contact with the modern world in 1950's, before that the used to live like nomads hunting, gathering and fishing in perfect harmony with the nature. Nowadays there is around 2,400 Huoranis distributed in 24 villages living in a territory of 680,000 ha (1.7 million acres).
DAY 1: FROM THE HIGHLANDS TO THE INCREDIBLE HUAORANI TERRITORY
This day you have to be in the national airport to catch your Coca's flight, you will fly for 35 minutes approximately, over the Eastern Andes Mountain Range, crossing the equator and looking into snow capped volcanoes over 5,790 meters above sea level (18,991 feet) to reach the headwaters of the Amazon Basin near the Napo River at only 250 m.a.s.l (820 feet).
Arrival to Coca, one of the most prosperous towns in the Ecuadorian Amazon region. Here our Huaorani guide will be waiting for us to travel along the Auca road, learning about the contrast between the oil companies and the pristine way of life of the Huaoranies. After a two hours drive we will reach the Shiripuno river, where our adventure begins. Here we will board a motorized dugout canoe, In the afternoon we will prepare our campsite and will enjoy the river, swimming, fishing for piranha, cat fish and many other species. Dinner and overnight at our campsite.

DAY 2: THE AMAZING WILDLIFE OF THE RAINFOREST
Early in the morning after breakfast we will have our first encounter with the Huaoranis, We will visit the community of Neoneno, where they will give us the welcome to their territory and also we will spend some time experiencing their daily activities. After this visit we will continue our trip to Bameno located 5 hours away from here. Along the way we will have chance to spot wild life like macaws, parrots, monkeys and if we are lucky tapir, capybaras and giant otters. In the afternoon we will prepare our campsite, Dinner and overnight.

DAY 3 & 4: BAMENO COMMUNITY
These two days you will have the opportunity to be with one of the most authentic villages of the Huaorani people, learning how to plant, harvest, make handicrafts, prepare meals and find out more about the secrets of their medicinal plants. You will spend time learning about survival in the Amazon jungle, where our guides will show us how to use spears and blowguns. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 5: FROM BAMENO TO NEONENO COMMUNITY
After breakfast we start our journey back to Neoneno, will travel by dugout canoe Up stream for seven hours along the Shiripuno river. During the trip we will enjoy the landscape and the wildlife. Lunch will be taken on the banks of the river. Dinner and overnight at our campsite of Neoneno.

DAY 6: RETURNING TO COCA
Early in the morning after breakfast we will continue your journey back to Coca, along the way we will have the chance to visit an oil field where international companies are extracting petroleum one of the main threats for the Huaoranies and to the forest. Dinner and overnight at Coca
Hotel El Auca. It is a modern and clean hotel located in the Coca's heart. The hotel is well presented and has a rustic charm. It features a garden courtyard surrounded with diverse plant life. All rooms are clean and simple. Each room has a private bath with hot water, the floor, walls and ceiling are made of wood panels and a fan mounted on the ceiling. The hotel offers a restaurant, serving regional cuisine.

DAY 7: COCA – QUITO
This day after breakfast you will be transferred to the airport to catch your flight back to Quito.
